Teddy Orii (aka Redsun) is a Native American hip hop artist. His unique blend of Native American hip hop and contemporary spiritual influences combined with a positive message for today's youth. His lyrics speak to spiritual and educational matters concerning Native American themes.
Redsun has ignited with his live performances. He has performed at the Cherokee Heritage Center Amphitheater, was the headliner at the Creek Nation Casino Native Fall Music Festival, and rocked the house at the L.A. Music Awards where he was honored as Best New Artist in Southern California. With a background in performance and dance, Redsun has also appeared on stage in the CBS studios, numerous concert venues, elementary and junior high schools, festivals and churches in Southern California and Oklahoma.
Redsun is one of the few independent performers ever invited to perform at the Cherokee Heritage Center Amphitheater that was designed by Chief Boyd in 1968. The amphitheater is part of the Cherokee National heritiage Museum which sits on Cherokee nation land, and its mission is to preserve and promote Cherokee history. Redsun is a member of the Cherokee National Historical Society.
